The art therapist's online resource
I am an art therapist like you, and I created this web site for both of us. Here, you can use the power of database to generate lists to spark your creativity. For example, if you are working with a group of adults on the theme of "self-esteem", you can see what directives other art therapists have used for that, see how they rated each of the directives, and view some examples of the artwork created.
As of January, 2012, 92% of the 687 users have BOTH art therapy and counseling training (self-reported).

Here are a few features of the database:
Browse, search, or sort all the directives with the touch of a button.
Create your own private list of directives. The power of the database makes it easy:
You add a directive once, and it appears on all the appropriate lists automatically!
You decide if your directive can be shared with other art therapists or not.
Use the database tools (browse, search, sort, rate, add comments, add images) with your own directives.
Other features of FindArtDirectives include:
- See examples of art created using the directives, comments and ratings by fellow art therapists who have tried them, and add your own.
- Share your own art directives to the PUBLIC LIST with the click of a button. The administrator reviews and approves it, and it gets shared with everyone else who uses the database.
- Learn about the emotional depth reached with each directive through our emotional depth code (mouse over each symbol to view a description):
Light Medium Heavy
- Select directives that fit you as an art therapist with our recommended skill level code:
Novice Moderate Expert
Please Note: I have made every effort to gain permission and credit authors whose art directives appear here. If you notice an error, please email email@example.com and I will investigate and do our best to correct it.
